EPSOM SALT – ORGANIC FERTILISER
Epsom Salt Organic Fertiliser, also known as magnesium sulphate, is a natural mineral made from magnesium, sulphur and oxygen. Although, we use this for medical and healing purposes, some gardeners also use it as fertiliser in their gardens.
- Magnesium Boost:
Epsom salt is a good source of magnesium, which is important for plants. Magnesium is an important component of chlorophyll, the green pigment responsible for photosynthesis. Adding Epsom salt to the soil can help alleviate magnesium deficiency in your plants, thereby increasing chlorophyll production.
- Sulphur Supplement:
Epsom salt also provides sulphur, another important element for plant growth. Sulphur is necessary for the production of amino acids and proteins in plants.
- Seed Germination:
Some gardeners use a diluted Epsom salt solution to soak seeds before planting. They believed to promote seed germination and early seedling growth.
- Foliar Spray:
Epsom salt can be dissolved in water and applied to the leaves as a foliar spray. It is considered a quick way to provide magnesium to plants, especially if magnesium is deficient.
